Event Code of Conduct

Last Revised: January 5, 2026

Welcome to Digital Day Camp events. To keep these events productive, respectful, and safe, we ask all attendees, including speakers and sponsors, to follow this Event Code of Conduct.

Professional & Respectful Conduct

All attendees are expected to maintain professional standards, including:

  • Respectful, inclusive, and constructive communication.

  • Accurate representation of experiences and good-faith advice.

  • Compliance with relevant laws and ethical standards.

We further expect the following behaviors in all events:

  • Behaving in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Treating all participants with respect, dignity, and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.

  • Welcoming all voices, whether participating in-person or remotely, and making space for new and diverse voices.

  • Being considerate, respectful, and collaborative in your communication and actions.

  • Discussing differences and critiquing ideas, not people, in a non-confrontational manner with due regard for others’ viewpoints.

  • Refraining from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech, including microaggressions.

  • Consuming alcohol or other altering substances responsibly so your behavior remains professional and safe for others.

  • When using a webcam, maintaining a professional presence appropriate to the context of the event or discussion.

Shared Responsibility for a Respectful Environment

We ask all members to help maintain a respectful, supportive community by self-managing respectful behavior and, when appropriate, intervening if someone is not being respectful. This may include:

  • Reporting suspected inappropriate behavior directed at yourself or others to someone in a position of authority (e.g., event organizer, moderator).

  • Speaking up if someone around you does or says something inappropriate.

  • Interrupting or redirecting a situation by creating a distraction to de-escalate.

  • Documenting incidents you witness, including date, time, people involved, and the behaviors observed.

  • Checking in with the person who experienced the inappropriate behavior.

  • When safe and appropriate, directly confronting the person acting inappropriately.

Consequences & Enforcement

We take these standards seriously. Violations of the Event Code of Conduct may result in:

  • A warning and reminder of these rules.

  • Temporary suspension from the events.

  • Ban from future Digital Day Camp events.

  • Refusal of entry to or removal of any person from any event at any time.

  • Ineligibility for refunds or other compensation if removed from an event for violating this Code of Conduct.

  • Legal action, if needed, to address misuse of proprietary or confidential information.

If you are asked to stop behaving inappropriately, you are expected to comply immediately.
